So glad you finally updated the site Dan! Your tree looks like a green ash (Fraxinus pennsylvanica) and the weed looks like a juvenile form of dog mustard (Erucastrum gallicum) but weeds are difficult to ID because they can look different depending on location.
Oh and whatever the weed is stop admiring and pull it out before it takes over your yard! :)
